Chronological history of T-1 class
- 1945, Sept. 6th - First T-1, 2100, outshopped at Reading, rebuilt from I-10sa 2020.
- 1956, June 1st - 9 T-1s are leased to the Pennsylvania railroad, #2107, 2111-2115, 2119, and 2128.
- 1956, (late) - All remaining T-1s stored after Reading declares full dieselization.
- 1957 - All T-1s leased to Pennsy scrapped, with exception of 2128.
- 1959, October 25th - 2124 ran first Iron Horse Ramble to Shamokin.
- 1959 - Two other Rambles were run, utilizing 2124.
- 1960 - Eleven Rambles were run.
- 1960, May - 2128 and six other T-1s scrapped.
- 1960 (fall) - 2102 used to provide steam for Carpenter Steel Co., which had suffered a fire, knocking out it's steam generator.
- 1961 - Fourteen Rambles were run.
- 1962 - Eight Rambles were run.
- 1963, July 1st - 2124 sold to Steamtown USA.
- 1963 - Eight Rambles were run.
- 1964 - Eight Rambles were run. 1964 was the last year for Reading "Iron Horse Rambles."
- 1965, January 31 - T-1s 2100-2102 sold by Reading Co. along with 0-6-0 1251.
- 1968 (un) - 2102 ran excursions. Minor derailment damaged main bearing. Sat idle for three years.
- 1971 (un) - 2102 ran along the Greenbriar River from Ronceverte to Cass, WV, as a novel way of getting tourists to the remote Cass Scenic Railway.
- 1972 (un) - 2102 ran excursions on Western Maryland and Baltimore & Ohio. Also recreated an Iron Horse Ramble from Reading to Harrisburg on ex-Reading track, sponsored by The High Iron Co., a private railfan group.
- 1973 (un) - 2102 leased to Delaware & Hudson as part of it's 150th birthday. Dressed as D&H 302 with Elaphant ears, recessed headlight, and number boards, doubleheaded with Canadian Pacific 653 from Steamtown, in addition to other excursions in the north-east.
- 1974 (un) - 2102 sold by owner Ross Rowland to Ohio tourist group, Allegheny Railroad. Didn't run for 3 years during overhaul.
- 1977 (un) - 2102 ran excursions in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania over Conrail. Was overhauled again by volunteers at Monongahela Railway Shop in Brownsville Pa.
- 1983, September 22 - Fired up for filming of "Maria's Lovers" on the Monongahela main line, south of Pittsburgh.
- 1985, August 24 - On a ferry move, 2102 was last live steam locomotive to pass K-4 1361 on the Horseshoe curve.
- 1985, September - 2102 brought back to Reading by The Reading Company Technical & Historical Society to run excursions celebrating the 40th anniversary of the T-1 debut. (T-1 2100 was outshopped Sept 6, 1945.) While 2102 was in Reading, Andrew Muller, Owner of the Blue Mountain and Reading Railroad, made the financially distressed owners and offer they couldn't refuse, and purchased 2102.
- 1986+ - 2102 ran excursions on BM&R, Reading Blue Mountain & Northern, as well as Conrail. Taken out of service (date unknown) in need of overhaul.
- 1988 (un) - 2100 aquired by Richard Kughn (then owner of Lionel Trains) and overhauled for mainline use. At this time, Lionel produced a scale model of 2100.
- 1995 - Steamtown USA becomes Steamtown NHS, still owns 2124. Having recieved cosmetic restoration, 2124 is a canditate for future restoration to service.
- 1995, September 25 - 2102 moves to Steamtown NHS.
- 1998 January 16th - 2100 auctioned off. The highest bidder: Tom Payne, owner of the Central Western Railway, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
- 1998 June 21th - 2100 moves to Michigan Central Railway shops, at the Elgin County Railway Museum, St. Thomas, Ontario.
- 1998, June 26 - 2102 is moved from Steamtown to RBM&N headquarters at Port Clinton, where a new locomotive shop is being constructed. 2102 is scheduled for overhaul there, once the shop is completed.
- 1998 July - Tom Payne moves his private car to the museum to stay with 2100. He will oversee 2100's converion to burn oil.
